'From Here to Here' - award-winning artist returns to alma mater for new exhibition
An exhibition of work by multiple award-winning artist Saul Robertson will open at the Lamb Gallery, University of Dundee, this weekend. Saul graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD), part of the University, in 2000. The exhibition, entitled 'From Here to Here' opens on Saturday, 18th January and features two of Saul's works from his time as a student at DJCAD alongside other pieces which illustrate the path his career has taken between then and now. Quiz and games night in aid of Team Malawi
A quiz and games night in aid of a group of staff and students from the University of Dundee trying to improve education and medical provision in Malawi will take place this weekend. 'Team Malawi' will hold the fundraiser at the Westport Bar from 7.30pm on Saturday, 18th January and are looking for as many people as possible to attend and help their efforts. This is the first of several events set to take place ahead of the group's planned visit to Africa in June. The trip aims to deliver much needed equipment to schools and a medical clinic in the town of Gowa, as well as helping on a practical level. ...

Nicola fund tops £25,000 for breast cancer research

Lifelong friends Mary Morrison and Margaret Manby started their charity efforts following the death of Mary's daughter Nicola Scott at the age of 41 in 2008. In 2013 they raised £3320, which brings their grand total to a phenomenal £25,000. Bright Club to shine a light on referendum
Some of Scotland's funniest academics will be using their expertise to apply some serious humour to the referendum campaign at the next Bright Club Dundee event next week. Comedian Rory Bremner last year said the issue was too important to be left to politicians and called for more humour in the debate, and the Bright Club event, led by the University of Dundee's Revealing Research team, aims to do just that. New marine renewables test centre to boost Scotland's offshore ambitions
Scotland's ability to meet its renewable energy targets will be significantly boosted by the creation of a new Marine Renewables Test Centre at the University of Dundee. The Centre will become a leading facility for the development, design and testing of marine renewable construction materials and prototype foundations.
