Philip Cohen awarded Albert Einstein Prize by the World Cultural Council
Professor Sir Philip Cohen, of the University of Dundee, has been awarded the 2014 Albert Einstein World Award of Science by the World Cultural Council. The World Cultural Council said the prize was being awarded to Sir Philip for his 40-year outstanding and continuing scientific career devoted to studying and establishing the profound importance of protein phosphorylation in regulating almost every physiological process. Studio Jamming: Artists' Collaborations in Scotland
Cooper Gallery at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) will later this month present a major new exhibition that takes its cue from the live improvised excitement of musical jamming to celebrate collaborative art. Studio Jamming: Artists' Collaborations in Scotland is part of GENERATION; 25 Years of Contemporary Art in Scotland and the Glasgow 2014 Culture Programme. Artist to sign off on residency with ‘Interactions’
American visual artist Ellen K Levy will next week mark the culmination of a residency at the University of Dundee by discussing her practice and how she was influenced by D’Arcy Thompson, Dundee’s first Professor of Biology. Ellen’s work explores biological science through mixed-media installations, forums, curatorial projects and writing.
