Joseph emerges triumphant and wins ‘The Scholarship’
After six weeks of intense competition, Joseph Nii Tettey Ashong has emerged as winner of ‘The Scholarship’, the Apprentice-style radio reality show offering one talented Ghanaian student a fully paid place at the University of Dundee. Joseph’s prize, worth £30,000, includes a one-year postgraduate scholarship for an Energy Studies-related course at the University, return ticket to Scotland, and residential, living, and learning material allowances. 5000 water bottles help keep students safe
Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) has handed out more than 5000 free water bottles since the start of term of September to help ensure all its members remain safe whilst enjoying themselves on a night out. Members of DUSA’s Customer Safety team now provide the bottles to help revellers remain safely hydrated throughout the night. This initiative was launched as part of a drive by the DUSA Student Executive to place the welfare of members at the heart of its operations. New strategy to treat Cystic Fibrosis
An international research collaboration, including scientists from the University of Dundee, have described a new approach for the future treatment of most cases of Cystic Fibrosis (CF), offering unexpected hope to patients suffering from the debilitating and life-shortening inherited disease. Lady Clark opens Willock Room in honour of former Dundee Professor
The Rt Hon Lady Clark of Calton, one of Scotland’s most senior judges, returned to the University of Dundee on Monday November 10th to open a new library facility for law students named after Professor Ian Willock, one of her own former tutors. Ian Willock was appointed Professor of Jurisprudence in the Faculty of Law at what was then Queen’s College, Dundee, in 1965.
