Home debut for graduate screenwriters
A movie written by University of Dundee graduates Jill Mannion and Kevin McComiskie will receive its Dundee premiere next month after winning acclaim overseas. ‘Random Acts of Romance’ was written by Jill and Kevin at Vancouver Film School in 2006 after they received scholarships to attend the prestigious Canadian institution. The resulting film, starring Amanda Tapping from the TV series ‘Stargate’, will be screened at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA) on Saturday, 10th May, followed by a Q&A session with the screenwriting team. ‘Why Breast Cancer Medicine can be Hard to Swallow’ – Café Science event on 28th April
A University of Dundee researcher will next week explore why almost one in three women affected by breast cancer do not take their medication as prescribed and the implications for their outcome. Dr Alison Harrow, a Dundee Cancer Centre Senior Research Nurse, will discuss ‘Why Breast Cancer Medicine can be Hard to Swallow’ at the next Café Science event being held in the city. One more step towards elimination of sleeping sickness
FIND (Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics) and the University of Dundee have signed a Material Transfer Agreement under which new reagents developed by the University will be made available for the development of an improved version of a rapid test for sleeping sickness, a deadly parasitic disease also known as Human African Trypanosomiasis (HAT). Diary helps social workers reflect on their profession
