Students participate in worldwide PARK(ing) Day event again
Students from the University of Dundee’s Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design are today leading Dundee’s third successive PARK(ing) Day event, when parking spaces in the city are temporarily transformed into public spaces. Around 80 Interior Environmental Design students are taking part in the global event that sees citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces. From hospital ward to world weightlifting championships
Less than a year after taking up competitive weightlifting Helen Weavers, a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Dundee’s Institute of Sport and Exercise, has won a silver medal at the World Masters Weightlifting Championships in Finland. The World Championship silver medal, which she won with a personal best, now sits alongside a European Masters silver, a British Masters gold and a Scottish Masters gold. Iqbal and other Law School high-flyers to be recognised
University of Dundee graduate Iqbal Mohammad will this evening receive the Dean’s Medal at the School of Law’s annual awards ceremony. Iqbal Mohammad, who recently graduated with an honours degree in Scots Law, has Asperger’s Syndrome and will be awarded the rare accolade by Law School Dean Professor Alan Page in recognition of his hard work in overcoming the challenges he faced throughout his studies. ‘THINGNESS?’ – New exhibition showcases residency outputs at Cooper Gallery
Work produced during a summer residency at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design will be unveiled at a new exhibition that opens tomorrow. THINGNESS? is the Cooper Summer Residency 2015 Exhibition and features new works produced by artists Oliver Braid and Anouchka Oler and philosopher Joseph Fletcher.
