University showcase for South African delegation
A delegation from South Africa is today visiting the University of Dundee as part of a week-long tour exploring how the Scottish higher education sector can act as a model for the development of their own universities. The group of 16 Deputy Vice-Chancellors from South African universities are receiving a guided tour of teaching and learning facilities at the main campus and at the School of Medicine at Ninewells Hospital. Gender equality commitment earns Athena SWAN awards
The University of Dundee’s work in advancing gender equality across the institution has been recognised with two more Athena SWAN Bronze awards. These Athena SWAN awards recognise commitment and success in developing practices to support the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine (STEMM) in academia. The University has been awarded two Bronze awards for its work in Engineering, Physics and Mathematics and in Computing. ‘Childhood, Youth and Poverty on the Streets of Africa’ – Dundee Arts Café on 6th October
Researchers from the Universities of Dundee and Manchester will relate the experiences of African street children at the next Dundee Arts Café event.
