Residency offers support for graduating artists and designers

Exhibitors at this year’s Dundee Art, Design and Architecture Degree Show will have the chance to compete for a lucrative residency at the University of Dundee. The Degree Show, which celebrates the success of graduating students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and the department of Architecture, takes place from 22nd to 31st May. Up to 12 residencies are available for Art, Craft, Design and Media graduates from the past three years and the programme aims to bridge the gap between an undergraduate degree and a flourishing career in creative practice or industry. Alison’s Degree Show plans to put Blairgowrie pupils outside

Pupils at Blairgowrie High School could have a new outdoor space for performance, teaching and meetings if designs by a University of Dundee student come to fruition. Alison Taylor, who is about to graduate with a degree in Interior Environmental Design, has been working with staff and pupils at the school to turn a disused space on the school grounds into a multi-purpose venue. Experts from the University of Dundee have helped the Tweed to become the first-ever winner of the UK River Prize. The Tweed, a UNESCO HELP Basin, is the site of the University’s main research focus on catchment management and river restoration. Animation students make their `speed pitch’

Their predecessors are already bringing magic to our screens in film, television, computer games and online. Now the 2015 class of animation graduates from the University of Dundee are set to show off their talents at the Art, Design & Architecture Degree Show and with a `speed pitch’.
