An international gathering of experts in embryology and human reproduction is taking place in Dundee this weekend.
Over 100 scientists and researchers from across Europe are in the city for an embryology workshop organised by Professor Christopher Barratt, of the University of Dundee, for the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology.
Professor Barratt is one of the world’s foremost experts on male infertility and Programme Lead of the University’s new taught post-graduate course in IVF and embryology.
“We have around 110 delegates including some of the leading figures in the field here in Dundee for two days, reviewing the latest advances in embryology,” said Professor Barratt.
“This is a very exciting time for embryology, with many major advances in the lab. So our primary aim is to discuss these developments within the context of everyday practice. For example, the recent introduction of time-lapse imaging still needs further debate. The discussion sessions planned for this meeting will be particularly effective in exchanging experiences.”
The workshop is taking place at the Apex City Quay hotel today and tomorrow, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th November.
