Students from around the world will be given a traditional Scottish welcome to Dundee tonight.

The University of Dundee's January intake of students has seen them arriving from as far afield as Tasmania, Brazil, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and across Europe and North America.

Tonight the 'A Taste of Scotland' welcome party will give around 150 of them their first experience of traditional Scottish culture including Burns poetry and a ceilidh.

'We have students arriving from all over the world and the welcome party is a great way to introduce them to Scottish culture,' said Susan Scott, International Student Adviser at the University.

The welcome party takes place at West Park Conference Centre from 7pm to 11.30pm tonight, Friday January 24th.
