Celebrating ‘Art in Relief’
Relief prints from the University of Dundee’s extensive collections, including works by notable masters Alison McKenzie and Willie Rodger as well as former students of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, have gone on display at the University’s Tower Foyer Gallery. The new exhibition, ‘Art in Relief’ will showcase dozens of prints for public viewing in a precursor to both the Print Design Festival 2016 and the Ignite Festival. Student takes on new role with ice hockey team
A current University of Dundee student will combine his studies with a new job at a local ice hockey team. Elliot Shaw, a second year Business Management student, will take up the post of Commercial Manager at the Dundee Stars for next season. He’s familiar with the team having completed a placement with the club as part of his course. Fossils dug up for this year’s Festival of Museums
The University of Dundee will be celebrating this year’s Festival of Museums with a special focus on fossils and ferns. The D’Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum will be hosting ‘The Hunt Is On’ on Saturday, May 14th from 2pm-4.30pm. Visitors will be asked to take part in a hunt for fossils and along the way they will learn more about dinosaurs and other forms of prehistoric life. Dundee researcher a rising star of science
Dr Alessio Ciulli, of the University of Dundee, has been recognised as one of Europe’s rising stars of science with the award of the 2016 MedChemComm Emerging Investigator Lectureship. MedChemComm is the official journal of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry. The annual MedChemComm Emerging Investigator Lectureship is given to a researcher who has made a significant contribution to medicinal chemistry research in the early part of their career. Future of computing showcased at University of Dundee
Software engineers, games developers, computer programmers, tech entrepreneurs and other digital pioneers from the University of Dundee will this week showcase their innovative and thought-provoking work.
