Professor Chris Whatley receives OBE

Chris Whatley, Professor of Scottish History and former Vice-Principal of the University of Dundee, today received an OBE at a ceremony at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

Professor Whatley was awarded the OBE in the New Year’s Honours list for his services to Scottish history education.

“I am delighted and it is great news for the University as well,” said Professor Whatley on the announcement of the OBE.

He has been Professor of Scottish History at the University since 1997 and was Vice-Principal and Head of the College of Arts and Social Sciences until last year. He headed the University’s Five Million Questions project around the Scottish independence referendum.
