Last year’s resolution was all about the need for transformational rather than incremental change and to combine excellence in all that we do with financial sustainability. Some see this as a managerial approach, but I argued it was essential to build a collegiate spirit because investment in one part of the University must meet its financial goals to allow continuing investment elsewhere.
