Illustrating the potential at pop-up store

Final-year Illustration students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) will tomorrow use at a pop-up shop in Dundee city centre to raise money for their Degree Show.

The students will be selling work at the pop-up shop hosted by Time Lifestyle Boutique in Reform Street from 12-4pm on Saturday, 31st January. The money they raise will be used to purchase materials for the flagship exhibition in May.

Time Lifestyle Boutique champions local designers wherever possible and owner Nicola Donnelly says she is keen to support all creative ambassadors for a city undergoing cultural development and beginning to realise its potential.

“After having some DJCAD students visit and interview me about starting a business and sourcing products from local designers, I decided to invite the illustration class to hold a pop-up shop in my store,” she said.

“I wanted to give them a platform and an experience of selling their work to the public. I visit many trade shows and think we have designers in Dundee who with support can equal or better the design and quality I see at trade shows while market research shows that the Dundee public are keen to buy locally designed goods.”
