Embrace emotions in social work, says academic
Rather than burying their own emotions, social workers should embrace and reflect upon them in order to provide better support for the vulnerable people they work with, according to a new book by a University of Dundee researcher. Patients wanted by medical school
The University of Dundee is recruiting volunteers to play the role of patients and help train the next generation of doctors, dentists and nurses. The University’s School of Medicine is appealing for members of the public to join its Patient Bank Programme in the Clinical Skills Centre at Ninewells Hospital. Report calls for improved support for young adults with life-limiting conditions.
A new report compiled for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland calls for the need for improved training and ongoing support for young adults living with life-limiting conditions, their families and health and social care professionals. Mirth-making researchers set for Fringe debut
A group of wise-cracking academics will make the jump from lecture theatre to stage this week when they perform in front of a sell-out crowd at the world’s largest comedy festival. Drawing with gunpowder to explore war through the eyes of children
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has inspired a Dundee-based artist to create a series of humanitarian gunpowder drawings, where the artworks are created with explosions in controlled conditions. Dina Mackins has prepared her exhibition at the University of Dundee’s Masters Show specifically to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War Two.
