Notes: The Jumo 205 was one of the first engines to use the opposed-piston, two-stroke vertical design (i.e. two pistons at opposite ends of each cylinder), creating a very high power/weight ratio. Developed in the 1930s, Jumo 205 engines went on to be used in German bomber planes during World War Two.
