Childcare vouchers now available to staff

The University, in conjunction with Imagine..., is now pleased to offer a Childcare Voucher salary sacrifice scheme.

This allows staff to benefit financially from the income tax and National Insurance Contribution exemptions now available and can give savings of up to £816.00 per year on the cost of childcare (depending on the level of income tax and national insurance contributions currently paid). Staff can opt to sacrifice up to a maximum of £217.00 per month.

The scheme is easy to operate. Staff can access the Imagine... account at anytime via the internet or free-phone telephone and authorise Imagine... to make a direct payment to the childcare provider's bank account.

The University intends to launch two similar schemes: the 'Home Computing Initiative' and 'Bikes to Work' later on this year.
