National award for Professor Robin Blair
Professor Robin L Blair FRC, Professor of Otolaryngology at the University, has been awarded the Walter
Jobson Horne Prize for 2004 by the Board of Science and Education of the British Medical Association. This
prize is awarded in recognition of distinguished work in the science and practice of Otolaryngology.
Professor Blair was awarded the prize for his major and unfaltering contributions to overseeing training and
education in ENT surgery in the UK and Ireland during times of major change. He is credited with bringing a
vision for the future to this branch of surgery and has been recognised for developing one of the foremost
teaching centres in the speciality in Europe.
