Exhibitions update
The University's department of archive and museum collections continues its ongoing programme of
exhibitions, with two new shows opening over the coming months.
'Textile Treasures' is a unique exhibition from the University's archive and museum collections and marks
the launch of a new website, Scottish Textile Heritage Online. From early jute mill records to modern fabric
designs by students at DJCAD the exhibition explores Dundee's many links to the art and industry of
textiles. The exhibition will run from 21 May - 19 June at the Lamb Gallery.
The second exhibition, entitled 'Past & Present - Discovering Oriental Cultures', has been curated in
collaboration with the Centre for Applied Language Studies. It includes work by Chinese and Korean students
encompassing both ancient and modern Asian culture. The show contrasts artefacts within the University's
museum collections with new works of art created in response to these by the students. It will be on display
in the Main Library between 11 June and 31 July.
