Multi-cultural fun
The Student Advisory Service, in conjunction with Student Services at the University of St Andrews,
recently organised an evening of entertainment for international students.
Held in the Bonar Hall, the programme included Chinese, Indian and Highland dancers, salsa swingers and an
eastern belly dancer. Vocalists from Scotland, China and Bangladesh also contributed to the evening's
entertainment. A fashion show, with models representing Dundee's communities plus student communities from
the University and Dundee College, provided a colourful and exciting finale.
Irene Donaldson, Head of the Student Advisory Service and Equality and Diversity Officer, said, "This is
the first time such an event has been organised. I am delighted by the response received from the
international communities at both universities as well as the local community. The huge audience had a
great night and we are already planning a similar event to be held in the near future.
