Researcher smashes British speed ski record
A researcher from the University broke the British record in speed skiing in April at the Red Rock French ski championships in Les Arcs France.
Nigel Brockton 31, a post doctoral student in obstetrics and gynaecology smashed the record with a speed of 235.190kph (146.2mph).
Nigel said: "I've been waiting five years for this opportunity. I was second man off the top and knew as soon as I hit the run that it was going to be good. I nailed it. It was an awesome sensation."
