Make an appointment for our Nursing Open Evening

Interested in a career in healthcare? Then a tour of the University of Dundee’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences could be the right prescription.

The University’s Kirkcaldy campus is throwing open its doors on Wednesday 22 May to give prospective students a chance to learn more about what it is like to study Nursing in the Fife town.

Staff will be on hand to showcase the facilities, including lecture theatre, library, and accommodation, while basic nursing skills will also be demonstrated in site’s clinical skills classrooms.

Gillian Morris, Nursing Lecturer, said, “Nursing is an incredibly rewarding profession and there is no better place to study than at our dedicated campus here in Kirkcaldy.

“Our Open Evening will give prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the undergraduate nursing courses we offer and what it is like to study here. We pride ourselves on the sense of community that exists on our campus, and events such as this also allow us to showcase the technology and teaching methods that help us to provide the very best education for the nurses of tomorrow.

“We are still accepting applicants for our new Adult Nursing intake in September, so for anybody contemplating a course with us, a visit to our Open Evening could launch your career in Nursing sooner than you might think.”

Approximately 300 students study at the Fife campus, which became affiliated to the University of Dundee in 1996. Offering courses in Adult Nursing at undergraduate, honours and masters level, the campus is currently at the forefront of a drive to recruit more men in to the profession, gaining nationwide exposure as part of a recent initiative with local football club Raith Rovers.

As well as touring the campus, the Open Evening will give prospective students the opportunity to complete an application form, with University staff on hand to assist or answer any questions.

The event takes place from 4pm-7pm and while there is no need to book in advance, places can be reserved via Eventbrite.
