Eden Project public lecture in Dundee

David Harland, Chief Executive for Eden Project International, will give a public lecture at the University of Dundee on Monday 17 June, highlighting how the Eden Project is now expanding around the world.

Dundee is already seeing how a major visitor attraction can help change perceptions of a city, with the remarkable effect V&A Dundee is having in attracting visitors.

The Eden Project did the same for Cornwall with their iconic Biomes housing the largest rainforest in captivity.

David Harland will share Eden’s experiences of setting up iconic attractions worldwide, in his lecture titled `The Eden Project: from Cornwall to Qingdao and everything in between!’.

Professor Andrew Atherton, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University, said, “This will be a fascinating talk and a valuable one for Dundee in seeing what we may learn now we are appearing ever more prominent on the map as a city to visit.

“Having established their original destination in Cornwall, Eden now have projects in China, Australia, USA and the Middle East. Following approaches from all over the world, David has been leading Eden’s expansion within the UK with the first new site expected to be in Morecambe, Lancashire, a project I was involved with when I was at Lancaster University.”

The lecture takes place at 5.30pm on Monday 17 June in the D’Arcy Thompson Lecture Theatre in the University Tower Building.

Tickets for the event are free and can be booked in advance here
