Saddleworth Moor fire seen from space
Published On Wed 27 Jun 2018 by Dominic Younger

The true size of the huge moorland fire was captured by the University of Dundee Satellite Receiving Station earlier this afternoon.
The image, captured by NASA’s Terra satellite at 12:11 UTC, demonstrates the scale of fire as it continues to spread on what is otherwise a perfectly clear day for the United Kingdom.
The Saddleworth Moor fire has proved devastating for the countryside in the area.
