From exploration to end-game: experts to discuss future of oil and gas

A conference which will give a comprehensive overview of the issues affecting the oil and gas industry in the UK will be held the University of Dundee next month.

Stephen Dow, Senior Lecturer in Energy Law at the University’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, said the UK Oil and Gas seminar will examine many of the issues facing the sector including talks on gas sales, drilling contracts and the tax implications of decommissioning.

“The oil industry in the UK is going through a period of substantial change. As a producing province, the UK is running out of resources meanwhile oil prices remain volatile and there is greater focus on the risk allocation in contracts.

“With the inevitable end-game looming on the horizon, the future of the industry is in greater need of scrutiny. This seminar offers the opportunity for the major oil and gas players to discuss the specific issues affecting the sector.”

UK Oil and Gas Law seminar will take place from Monday, 12^th to Tuesday 16^th November at the Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee.

The five-day conference will cover every aspect of the oil and gas industry from exploration to decommissioning.
