Campus voted one of the best in UK

The University of Dundee has been voted as one of the best campuses in the UK – and top in Scotland – in a poll of students across the country.

Dundee came 4th in the rankings compiled by Student Crowd, a website that compares various aspects of university life by asking students to review their institution. It was the only Scottish university to be ranked in the national top 10

In a survey of 7,849 students, campuses across the UK were rated by students on their social, academic and environmental strengths. These included campus/facilities, clubs and societies, students union, careers service and internet/wifi.

Caroline Goodliffe, Vice President Student Welfare at Dundee University Students’ Association, said, “We’re delighted to see that our campus is being ranked so highly by students. It can be easy to take these facilities for granted, but we recognise and are grateful for the hard work and dedication that goes into maintaining such a high standard. DUSA is at the heart of our campus and we will continue to utilise this stunning space for the benefit of those who study here.”

Thousands of students live in accommodation at City Campus, the hub of Dundee’s student life. As well as leading-edge teaching and research spaces on campus, the University community is served by DUSA, the Main Library, Institute of Sport & Exercise, and Chaplaincy Centre among other amenities.

Student Crowd described City Campus as “delightfully green, with lawns and secret gardens, plus great views over the River Tay and its bridges, and the Fife countryside.

“Whilst being a quiet and relaxed campus, perfect for that all important revision, it's very close to Dundee city centre. The city campus itself is also host to a number events including student receptions, freshers and sports fairs, graduation garden parties and the Grad Ball, and car park raves.”
