Apple pressing core of campus climate week

Students and staff at the University of Dundee will take climate change matters into their own hands with a week of events aimed at promoting sustainability.

Daily events including a climate market, a litter pick and an apple pressing picnic will be taking place across the city campus from Monday 1 October until Thursday 5 October.

Trudy Cunningham, Environment and Sustainability Officer at the University and who has helped organise the events, said, “Everyone is welcome to join in on our free events next week. Pop along and learn about some small, easy steps which can help you combat climate change.

“Why not bring your own apples to our picnic on Tuesday 2 October and learn how to make your own apple juice or swing by our litter pick on Thursday and help our students clean up campus and the surrounding areas.

“We’d like to thank the Gate Church Carbon Saving Project and Friends of the Earth Tayside and our student societies for making this week of exciting events possible.”

All the events, which form part of Climate Week Scotland, are free of charge and open to all.
