Professor Mike Ferguson appointed Wellcome Trust Deputy Chair of Governors

Professor Mike Ferguson, Regius Professor of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee, has been appointed Deputy Chair of the Board of Governors of the Wellcome Trust, one of the UK’s largest charities.
Professor Ferguson, who will also continue his work at the University, takes up the post from January 2018. He is taking over from Professor Dame Kay Davies.
Professor Ferguson has been on the Board of Governors at Wellcome since January 2012.
Wellcome’s chair Eliza Manningham-Buller said, “Mike’s new role will allow us to benefit from even more of his expertise.”
Professor Ferguson said, “I look forward very much to serving Wellcome as deputy to Eliza. Wellcome is an extraordinary organisation. To assist with its mission is an extraordinary privilege. I would like to thank sincerely the outgoing Deputy Chair, Kay, whose example in that role will be an inspiration.”
