Candlelight Carol Service - Sunday 10 December at 5pm

One of the highlights of Dundee’s festive calendar will take place this week as the University of Dundee hosts its annual Carols by Candlelight.

The event, which is open to all, will take place at St Paul’s Cathedral on Sunday 10 December at 5pm. This years’ service will be extra special as the University Choir brings an end to the University’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

They have commissioned a special choral piece to mark 50 years since the University became an independent institution. ‘What Sweeter Music’ was written by English composer Will Todd and it will be performed for the first time at the service.

University Chaplain, Rev Dr Fiona Douglas, said, “The Carol Service is one of the highlights of the University year when staff and students, their families, and the local community come together to mark Christmas.

“It is always a wonderful ceremony and we hope to see you there.”

The event will be followed by a reception where mulled wine and mince pies will be served.
