University signs zero tolerance pledge on sexual harassment.

Professor Sir Pete Downes will sign a zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment and bullying on campus with Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) later today.

“Signing up to the policy, which was adopted by DUSA’s Student Representation Council two years ago, sends a strong campus-wide message that we don’t tolerate sexual harassment or bullying of any kind,” explained the Principal.

“Sexual harassment and bullying isn’t acceptable in any aspect of society and I am proud that DUSA and the University that I am part of is doing its part to change society and take a zero tolerance stance against it,” said Tim Hustler, DUSA President. “Every student on and off campus has the right to not be sexually harassed in any aspect of their student experience. Whether that be when you are dancing in Mono or when you are simply studying in the library.”

The signing takes place in DUSA tonight at 5.30pm, just before the last Student Representative Council meeting of the year.
