The University of Dundee and Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) have pledged their joint commitment to enhancing student engagement, employability and representation.
Professor Sir Pete Downes, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Indre Urbanaviciute, President of DUSA, signed the fourth annual Student Partnership Agreement (SPA). This document sets out key principles that define student engagement and representation as well as annual priorities agreed upon by both institutions.
Based upon the values of openness and trust, the 2016-17 SPA will strengthen community-building at the University through robust communication and understanding between the partners.
Recently named Scottish University of the Year by the Sunday Times Good University Guide, Dundee was also ranked number one in Scotland in the most recent Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey. The University was also recently ranked in the top ten in the UK in the National Student Survey 2016, in which DUSA came out as Scotland’s best students’ union.
Professor Downes said, “We are delighted to continue to show our support for this partnership, which is one of the main reasons we are the top University in Scotland for student experience.”
Indre added, “We are looking forward to continuing the partnership between staff and students. We have agreed to aim to make the student voice heard even more at every level of representation and enhance the student experience.”
