Mark Beaumont pushes student well-being with new Support Hub

The record-breaking long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont is set to open the University of Dundee’s new Support Hub next week.

Mark, the student Rector, will unveil the Support Hub which aims to cater for a range of support needs for staff and students.

The Support Hub is set to bring together existing services which provide disability, mental health, student funding, counselling and health support across the University.

Mark said, “University can sometimes be an uphill struggle for students. Financial circumstances, ill-health and stress are common features across all campuses but this new Support Hub will be there for all students and staff, making sure everyone is heard and supported when they need it most.

“It’s important to remember you are not invincible and not alone, making the most of these services is to be encouraged alongside maintaining a friendly campus, where students and staff look out for each other’s wellbeing.”

Graham Nicolson, Director of Student Services at the University, said, “We are delighted Mark is coming to open our new Support Hub. We are as ever committed to keeping our staff and students stay healthy and safe.

“The new Support Hub is just a continuation of our efforts to ensure we deliver the best student experience possible.”
