Making Dundee home

Students at the University of Dundee are being encouraged to embrace neighbourliness as part of a new campaign starting this week.

‘Be A Good Neighbour’ will be launched at Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) from 12-2pm on Thursday, 11th February when representatives from charities, Dundee City Council and University departments will come together to promote the value of being a good neighbour to students in accommodation across the city.

In an effort to improve relations between locals and the student body, the campaign will provide information on issues ranging from budgeting and bills to bin day advice; noise levels at night to registering to vote in local and national elections. This will be followed by a Speed Renting event at DUSA on the evening of Friday, 12th February allowing students the opportunity to find new flatmates.

Leia Farnan, Deputy President of DUSA, said “With students making up a large proportion of the population of Dundee, it is important they feel a part of the local community. This campaign aims to celebrate Dundee and tighten the relationship between students and the city, whilst promoting the responsibilities students have."
