Dundee soars in Guardian University Guide 2017

The University of Dundee is among the fastest risers in the 2017 Guardian University Rankings, released today, and has topped the UK table in forensic science and archaeology.

Dundee is placed 28th in this year’s overall rankings, up ten places from last year. The University had already jumped nine places from the 2015 edition to last year’s.

The ranking reflects strong student satisfaction scores at the University, which has been consistently rated as offering the best student experience in Scotland, and excellent performance in `Career after six months’ which reflects on employability of graduates.

Dundee is ranked number one in Forensic Science & Archaeology and is in the top ten in Social Work (3rd), Dentistry (4th), Medicine (5th), Fashion & Textiles (7th) Law (8th), Art (9th), Economics (9th) and Physics (9th).

“This is another excellent performance by the University, both in the overall standings where we have had a real surge over the past two years and also across many of our subject areas,” said Professor Sir Pete Downes, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dundee.

“The Guardian rankings strongly reflect levels of student satisfaction, which of course have been high at Dundee. I am also particularly pleased to see the strength of our performance of Dundee in employability of our graduates. We are committed to producing graduates who can make a real impact from the moment they leave the University.”
