Although no longer taught as a separate subject, Botany was once an important part of the curriculum for students of Biology and Medicine. Patrick Geddes held the first Chair of Botany in Dundee from 1888-1919, establishing the University Herbarium and designing gardens around the campus. His dream of creating a Botanical Garden for both students and the public was finally realised in 1971.
This exhibition features specimens, teaching charts and instruments from the former Botany department, now held by Museum Services.
