Assessing the league tables

The University has fared well in the recent round of league tables soaring up to 9th place for teaching in the Times Higher league - ahead of Oxford in 10th place.

In The Times league we are placed at 31 continuing on an upward trend from 37 in 2002 and 35 in 2001. The University performs well in teaching, research and graduate destinations but drops places on library, computer and facilities spending and completion rates.

The Guardian league ratings published the top ten institutions for each subject area placing the University of Dundee in the top ten for six subjects - anatomy, pharmacology, psychology, town and country planning, hospitality and biosciences which was rate as the second best university in the country for undergraduate teaching. Overall in the Guardian, the University was placed at 25.

In the Financial Times survey Dundee came in at 39.
