Exhibiting in Madison Square Gardens

Following on from the success of "Voyager", which is being exhibited until 31 October, with works by Mark Dion and Dan Graham, in New York's Madison Square Park, Duncan of Jordanstone-based artists Dalziel + Scullion are enjoying a busy season.

On October 4, the duo was guest speakers at the Tate Britain's Art & Nature symposium, which looked at how nature is interpreted by contemporary artists. The artists gave an illustrated presentation on their work to show how it engages with materials and concepts of nature.

Their best known short film "Another Place" was recently well received at the Cinema Texas international short film festival. The 16 minute-long film, a portraiture of a small fishing community in Peterhead, was also screened during last year's Edinburgh International Film Festival and was referred to as a "beautifully composed piece of ambient cinema". 'Water Falls Down' their more recent short film, which includes footage of baptisms at sea filmed in the north east of Scotland and of snow falling on a birch sapling, has also been selected for inclusion in the highly acclaimed International Video-Art Biennial in Tel Aviv, Israel, from 20-26 November.
