Trois Mouline 2000
Bordeaux (France)
An excellent new wave white Bordeaux vinified using the very latest stainless steel, cool fermentation technologies. Predominantly Sauvignon Blanc, this is a racy crisp white with fine citrus fruit and herby notes. A touch of Semillon adds weight, perfume and depth of flavour.

Macon Uchizy 2000
Domaine Gérald & Philibert Talmard (Burgundy, France) A full flavoured, rich, unoaked Chardonnay from Gérald, the winemaker at the old Domaine Talmard, and his son Philibert who has taken over the duties in the vineyard! Up front and fruity with perfect balance and refreshing acidity.

Cotes du Rhone Cuvée La Haie aux Grives 1998
Domaine du Vieux Chêne (Southern Rhône, France) From the celebrated Domaine du Vieux Chêne, the product of winemaker Jean-Claude Bouche's restless search for perfection: this organic wine is a blend of Grenache and Syrah offering deep, dark fruit flavours and a firm, tannic spine.

Chateau Grande Maye 1998
Côtes de Castillon (Bordeaux, France) A Merlot-rich wine from Bordeaux's right-bank, crammed with soft, plummy fruit and lingering complexity. A beautifully balanced wine from one of the 20th Century's greatest vintages.

Sauvignon Blanc 2001
Palliser Estate (Martinborough, New Zealand) This is our sole foray into the southern hemisphere, but it's definitely worth the trip. Beating all comers (including Cloudy Bay) to be voted best white wine in show- in this year's New Zealand Wine Institute tasting in London. This fragrant Sauvignon Blanc is made with grapes given full exposure to the sun. Pink Grapefruit combined with rich tropical fruits.

Chablis Prieuré St Côme 1999
Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard (Burgundy, France) Top Chablis producer recently acquired the Prieuré of St Côme and its vineyards. He deemed the resultant wine to be of such quality and distinction that he created this new cuvée! Classic steely dry white with pure crisp white fruits and fine mineral notes.

Chateau Grand Moulin 1998
Montagne-St Emilion (Bordeaux, France) Made from grapes harvested on the hills near the ancient village of St Emilion, this blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot is typical of the great 1998 claret vintage.

Crozes Hermitage Château Curson 1998
Domaine Etienne Pochon (Northern Rhône, France) This is Etienne Pochon's top cuvée. 100% Syrah from his best sites, aged in oak for added depth and complexity. Full bodied with well-integrated tannins, abundant hedgerow fruits, damsons and black currants with a peppery spicy touch to the finish.
