First nurses qualify in supporting carers The first ten nurses in the UK to complete a unique training programme in carer support received their post registration certificates in October. The aim of the course is to enable nurses to relieve the stress and burden of caring and to develop the positive aspects of this valuable role. It is a joint venture between the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Tayside Primary Care Trust, Department of Public Health, Glasgow University and is funded by the Scottish Executive Mental Health Development Fund.
