The ancient craft of bodging will be on display during the fourth Weekend of Wood at the University of Dundee Botanic Garden on September 21 and 22.
Bodging is green wood turning - using a foot-powered lathe to convert freshly-felled wood into small turned items such as chair legs and rolling pins. Its origins date back to the Iron Age when it was the only way of producing bowls and other utensils.
Modern-day bodgers will be demonstrating the skill for visitors to both days of the Botanic Garden event. On Sunday, visitors can learn about the process of crafting a violin from Edinburgh-based violin-maker Colin Adamson.
Other attractions include a craft sale, hand made furniture, trees from every continent and tree species conservation information.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm on both days. Admission is £2 for adults, £3 for kids. Family tickets costs £5.
photo opportunities available throughout during the event. Bodgers will be present from 10am - 4pm both days. Violin- maker present Sunday only.
