6 September 2002
A selection of rarely seen Scottish art held by the University of Dundee Museum Services will go on display from Monday, September 9.
The University's fine art collections include a representative variety of works by Scottish artists from the last the 300 years, a selection of which can be seen in the Lamb Gallery, Tower Building, during "Scottish Art 1700-2000".
The exhibition features well known artists such as George Henry, McIntosh Patrick and Ian Hamilton Finlay as well as less well known talents such as Archibald Skirving and John Thomson of Duddingston.
To complement the exhibition, the Tower foyer gallery will be displaying a selection of prints by one of Scotland's most acclaimed modern artists, Eduardo Paolozzi. Taken from the series "Cloud Atomic Laboratory", the works explore the world of science through images from the popular culture of the 1950s and '60s.
Scottish Art runs for one week only (10th-17th September). The Paolozzi prints will run until 23rd September.
