International students about to embark on courses at the University of Dundee will be given a special welcome by Principal Sir Alan Langlands on Saturday September 28.
Sir Alan will address 200 students from countries including China, the USA, Nigeria, Korea and India. Representatives from various local cultural organisations will also be present to welcome the students into the wider Dundee community.
The reception is one of a programme of events designed to help students from overseas find their feet in Dundee and Scotland as a whole. City and campus tours, information sessions covering health & safety and English language testing are also scheduled.
Irene Donaldson, head of the University's student advisory service said, "We want to make our international students very welcome and help them adapt to life in Scotland. A number of social and cultural events are also planned for throughout the session for such students and their families, including an international food evening, a weekend break to Skye and sightseeing trips to Edinburgh and Glamis Castle."
