Distance learning student, Karen Ellacott, who is studying for a top-degree in Bachelor Nursing in Ontario Canada heard of the plight of stranded Canadians in Dundee.
She writes:
While watching the news reports endlessly this week, in an effort to
assimilate the U.S. tragedy, I heard that a plane full of Canadians, headed
for Calgary, had been diverted to and grounded in Scotland. It reported that
they were housed at the University of Dundee and that school staff cooked
breakfast for them. I was deeply touched, to have this small connection to
world events. I want to say thanks on behalf of all Canadians, for Dundee's
support and it made me proud to say I study there!

On another note of thanksMusic co-ordinator, Graeme Stevenson set up a collection after this afternoons Lunch Time concert at the University's Chaplaincy Centre.
