A speedy thirteen week summer project has just been completed to refurbish Belmont Hall at the University of Dundee. Construction workers were burning the midnight oil over the summer break to make sure that the renovations were ready for the class of 2005 moving in next week.
Belmont's tower block has been transformed with new fittings, carpets, beds, wall coverings, doors, internet link ups for computers and ensuite shower facilities. Self-catering accommodation has also been provided on some of the floors with spacious full-fitted kitchens.
The refurbishment brings Belmont up to the standard of accommodation offered in West Park and Seabraes halls of residence.
Graham Anderson, Bursar of Residences at the University of Dundee: "Students want value for money, security and quality accommodation close to campus. We have provided this in the Belmont refurbishment and are confident that our students will be delighted when they move in at the weekend."/ENDS
