Faculty of Life Sciences prize giving
Photo opportunity: 5.30pm, Thursday 7 October, Large Lecture Theatre, Medical Sciences Institute
(off Old Hawkhill, next to Wellcome Trust Building), University of Dundee.
Over sixty students from the University of Dundee's world-famous School of Life Sciences who have
demonstrated outstanding academic performance will be congratulated at the annual prize-giving ceremony
on Thursday 7 October.
The event celebrates the remarkable achievements of students from the last academic year.
4th year, Sports Biomedicine student Lee Hamilton has picked up four awards including an Armitstead
Bursary award, the British Association 1939 Prize as well as the Clinical Exercise Physiology and
Molecular Exercise Physiology medals.
Among the prizes awarded are three given every year in memory of Jonathon Glover, a PhD student at the
School who died when ice-climbing in Glen Doll, Angus, in 1982.
Dr Jim Elliott Head of Life Sciences Teaching Unit who will make an opening address said, "It is a
pleasure to celebrate the substantial accomplishments of this number of Life Science students. We all
look forward to sharing in the continuing successes of this up and coming generation of life scientists."
