Ron and the Researchers - a group of crooners from the University of Dundee will present a cheque for £2,000 tomorrow to the Maggie Centre after sales of their CD made them a hit in the School of Life Sciences.
Ron Lorimer - a renowned singing store technician persuaded some scientists to join him in cutting a CD of all time classic tracks such as "I only have eyes for you" and "Love is a many splendoured thing."
Ron and the Researchers will present the proceeds from the CD to Dr Valerie Busher of the Dundee Maggie Centre tomorrow morning in the Wellcome Trust Biocentre.
The band comprises Professor Jeff Williams, who leads a research group in the Wellcome Trust Biocentre; bass guitarist Alex Schuttlekopf who is studying for his PhD and Magnus Alphey a postdoctoral researcher who plays the keyboard.
CDs are still available for sale in the Maggie Centre shop at Ninewells.
