Dundee Association of Women Graduates is presenting its annual prize to the best access student at the University of Dundee this evening.
Paula Milne was selected by the University to receive the prize for her success and dedication to her studies. Lily Forrester, co-ordinator of Dundee University Access Learning said: "Paula was the perfect access student. She was committed to her studies, balancing family commitments with academic pressures. Paula had no previous experience of higher education but took to the study routine like a duck to water. I am delighted that the Women Graduates Association is recognising her hard work."
Esther Mackenzie, President of the Dundee Association of Women Graduates said: "We are always looking to promote education for women and are delighted to be presenting this prize to Paula Milne for her exemplary attitude to her studies."
The University of Dundee runs access courses to encourage people from a non-traditional higher education background to study at degree level. The centre for wider access at the University of Dundee was named as a best practice model for widening higher education participation in the UK.
The Dundee Association of Women Graduates was established in 1945. They support many projects promoting education including sponsoring young women from developing countries to study abroad./ ENDS
