Professor Sir Philip Cohen, director of the Wellcome Trust Biocentre at the University of Dundee today added his congratulations to this year's Nobel prize winners for medicine, Tim Hunt and Paul Nurse who are frequent visitors to Dundee.
He said: "We are thrilled to see the Nobel Prize awarded to these two great UK scientists whose work has been fundamental to much of the research carried out at this and other research institutions. Indeed Tim Hunt, we are delighted to say, has made a special contribution to the Wellcome Trust Biocentre in Dundee as a member of its Scientific Advisory Board."
In what Sir Philip describes as "lucky prescience", t he University of Dundee is due to host a lecture by the second new Nobel Prize winner Paul Nurse who recently agree to deliver the annual Peter Garland lecture on 31 May next year.
