A distinguished journalist with years of experience in the US and UK is to deliver the inaugural lecture of the Institute for Transatlantic, European & American Studies (ITEAS) at the University of Dundee.
Author, journalist and scholar Godfrey Hodgson will deliver a lecture on the development of anti-Europeanism in the USA and the concurrent rise of Anti-Americanism in Europein the wake of the Iraq conflict.
Godfrey Hodgson has worked as a newspaper and magazine journalist, as a television reporter, documentary maker and anchor, as a university teacher and lecturer, and as the author of half a dozen books about UK politics and recent history. He has divided his life between his native Britain and the United States.
Alan Dobson, Director of ITEAS said: "Godfrey Hodgson is a truly remarkable man with a unique wealth of knowledge about the USA and Europe. He has rubbed shoulders with the great and the good on both sides of the Atlantic for over forty years and is uniquely placed to assess the consequences of the war on Iraq and the tensions it has spawned, which threaten to push long-standing friends apart."
