Deputy Principals appointed

The University of Dundee has appointed two new Deputy Principals, Professors Geoff Ward and Malcolm Horner.

Professor of English Geoff Ward's focus will be on developing postgraduate courses within the faculties of Arts & Social Sciences, Education & Social Work, Law & Accountancy and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design.

His other roles will be to ensure that the University develops in response to changes in education policy, to promote the growth of distance and e-learning and to work with external agencies to cultivate the University's social and cultural responsibilities.

Professor Malcolm Horner will continue to direct the University's Centre for Enterprise Management while promoting the development of new postgraduate programmes in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering and Medicine, Dentistry & Nursing. He will also provide management support to University Principal Sir Alan Langlands.

Both professors will officially take up their three-year posts on November 18.
