Liberal lecture

Tavish Scott MSP will deliver the final lecture in this term's politics series at the University of Dundee tomorrow.

The Liberal Democrat member for Shetland, Scott was the deputy minister for parliament until March this year. He sits on the enterprise and lifelong learning committee in parliament and is a member of the cross party groups on oil and gas, strategic rail services and convenes the renewable energy group.

After graduating in 1989 from Edinburgh University, Tavish Scott worked for Jim Wallace MP in the House of Commons. He became Scottish press officer for the Liberal Democrats in 1990, before returning to Shetland to run his family's farm.

The lecture will be held in the Tower conference suite at 1pm, is free and is open to the public.

The University of Dundee's politics lecture series will resume in the spring with a visit from the parliament's presiding officer, David Steel MSP./ENDS
